AITS Symposium 2025: AI Driving Innovation and Sustainability

The Arabian Journal for Science and Engineering, owned and managed by King Fahd University of Petroleum and Minerals (KFUPM), successfully organized the AI Transforming Systems (AITS) Symposium 2025 at the University’s campus. This prestigious event highlighted AI’s role in driving innovation and sustainable development across critical sectors, bringing together 253 attendees, 15 speakers, and representatives from 10 countries, including global experts, researchers, and industry leaders.

With a strong focus on AI’s transformative impact, the symposium explored breakthroughs in energy optimization, cognitive cities, cybersecurity, and high-performance computing. It also showcased AI’s advancements in systems engineering, particularly in autonomous systems and large-scale integration.

The symposium featured in-depth discussions and presentations on key themes, including AI in energy and sustainability, AI in cognitive cities, AI and cybersecurity, and AI in complex systems. A dynamic agenda delivered inspirational keynotes from global AI experts, thematic sessions focusing on AI applications, engaging discussions addressing AI’s challenges and opportunities, and innovation showcases featuring cutting-edge research. AITS 2025 also recognized outstanding research contributions through Graduate and Undergraduate Poster Awards, celebrating excellence in AI-driven innovation.

Additionally, the symposium announced a special issue titled AI Transforming Systems, dedicated to highlighting AI’s impact on energy sustainability, smart cities, cybersecurity, and trustworthy computing. As AI continues to revolutionize industries, the AITS Symposium 2025 served as a platform for thought leadership, collaboration, and groundbreaking discoveries, reinforcing KFUPM’s commitment to fostering innovation and shaping the future of AI-powered systems.
