Students Showcase KFUPM's Legacy with "Memory of Al-Jabal"

King Fahd University of Petroleum and Minerals (KFUPM) recently hosted the “Memory of Al-Jabal” exhibition, a vibrant student-led initiative to document the university’s achievements and preserve its historical milestones. Held from April 21 to 26 at Al-Maydan and Building 20, the exhibition featured over 10 interactive zones, including a museum, speaker theater, and a heritage market, offering an immersive experience into KFUPM’s rich history and its evolving role in the Kingdom.

The event welcomed a distinguished lineup of speakers and guests, including H.E. Eng. Abdullah Al-Muqbel, Former Minister of Transport and Honorary President of the International Road Federation in Washington; H.E. Dr. Abdulrahman Al-Jaafari, Former Governor of the Communications and Information Technology Commission; H.E. Dr. Mohammed Benten, Former Minister of Hajj and Umrah; H.E. Dr. Mohammed Al-Tamimi, Governor of the Communications, Space & Technology Commission and CEO of the Saudi Space Agency; H.E. Dr. Khaled Al-Biyari, Assistant Minister of Defense for Executive Affairs; H.E. Dr. Mohammed Al-Suwaiyel, Former Minister of Communications and Information Technology; H.E. Eng. Osama Al-Zamil, Chairman of the Board at AWAZ for Consulting; Mr. Abdullah Jum’ah, Former President and CEO of Saudi Aramco; Dr. Abdullah Al-Dabbagh, Founder of KFUPM’s Research Center and Founder of Ma’aden; Dr. Saleh Bakhrebah, Former Vice Rector for Applied Studies and Research; and Mr. Mazroa Al-Mazroa, Chief Marketing and Experience Enhancement Officer at King Abdullah Financial District (KAFD).

The exhibition was further honored by a visit from His Royal Highness Prince Saud bin Khalid Al-Faisal, underscoring the significance of the event in celebrating KFUPM’s enduring legacy.

Organized entirely by students, “Memory of Al-Jabal” not only chronicled the university’s past but also strengthened its community spirit by reconnecting alumni, faculty, and students through stories that shaped KFUPM into the institution it is today.
