Teamwork Transforms a Student Initiative into a Licensed Organization

A group of students from King Fahd University of Petroleum and Minerals (KFUPM) has achieved a significant milestone by graduating from Misk Initiatives Incubator, a program dedicated to supporting and scaling youth-focused initiatives and turning them from initiatives to licensed nonprofit organizations that revolutionize the nonprofit industry. The team, consisting of Fahad Fawaz Al-Otaibi, Abdulrahman Ibrahim Al-Fuhaid, Faisal Suhail Al-Almaee, Mohammad Wadood Tawfiq, Ahmed Fawaz Al-Zaidi, Yasir Ahmed Al-Qahtani, and Nawaf Hatem Al-Harbi, successfully led their initiative, "Tajseer Association," to be one of the 12 selected out of more than 500 applicants, with a competitive acceptance rate of 2.2%. The initiative has now become a licensed non-profit organization officially registered with the Ministry of Human Resources and the National Center for the Non-Profit Sector and has also received support and empowerment from the Mohammed bin Salman Foundation (Misk), which will contribute to enhancing its impact and expanding its success.

Tajseer aims to bridge the gap between academic education and the labor market by offering specialized training programs that prepare Saudi youth for the global job market. The Association has established strategic partnerships with local and international companies, providing programs such as job shadowing, internships, and professional mentoring. So far, over 130 students have participated in these programs, with 22 securing job or internship offers.

The team faced considerable challenges, including addressing the mismatch between higher education and job market demands, which affects youth employment and competitiveness. Tajseer tackles these issues by offering practical experiences and professional guidance, fostering early career exploration and skill development. With the support of KFUPM, the initiative was able to launch and grow, reflecting the university's commitment to nurturing innovation and driving societal impact.

Tajseer’s mission is to equip graduates with the skills and knowledge necessary for success in the workforce, aiming to build a sustainable bridge between education and employment. Their success in the Misk Initiatives Incubator highlights the potential of KFUPM students to lead impactful change in the world.
