KFUPM and UCL Students Drive Innovation Through Solution Hackathon

Bringing together brilliant young minds, students from King Fahd University of Petroleum and Minerals (KFUPM), in collaboration with University College London (UCL), made waves with the Solution Hackathon—a dynamic, three-day challenge designed to push the boundaries of creativity and problem-solving.

With over 500 eager applicants, only the best 186 participants made the cut, forming 49 high-energy teams to take on three major challenges: digital healthcare solutions, enhancing STEM education and improving university life.

But this was more than just a competition. Participants got hands-on experience through expert-led mentorship sessions and specialized workshops, diving deep into tech, entrepreneurship, and innovation. The event culminated in an exciting showcase, where teams presented their groundbreaking ideas to a panel of industry experts. The top three teams from each university secured their spots in the highly anticipated final stage.

The Solution Hackathon wasn’t just about winning—it was about learning, collaborating, and breaking new ground in tech-driven solutions. It fostered international teamwork, gave students a taste of real-world startup culture, and proved that when bright minds come together, innovation has no limits!
